Nominations Needed for Young Alumni and Hall of Fame Awards

Although it is several months until the next USAO Alumni Hall of Fame and Young Alumni awards ceremony, the search is already underway for this year’s recipients. Nominations will be accepted through April 1.

“So often I am asked why someone isn’t in the Hall of Fame or why someone hasn’t received the Young Alumni Award. My answer is usually the same – because the person hasn’t been nominated,” said Eric Feuerborn, director of Alumni Development. “We need nominations from alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university.”

The nomination process is simple and forms are available online in PDF format at usao.edu/alumni/hall-fame-award and usao.edu/alumni/young-alumni-award. “Those interested in nomination forms also can call our office at 405-574-1294 or email at usaoalumnioffice@usao.edu,” Feuerborn said.

“I know each year that qualified candidates are overlooked from the Oklahoma College for Women, Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts and USAO. These people deserve the recognition of these awards.

“The Hall of Fame and Young Alumni Awards represent our ‘best of the best.’ Past winners represent many different backgrounds and professions.”

The USAO Young Alumni Award is bestowed by the USAO Alumni Association to alumni and former students who attended USAO within the past ten years. The award is extended in recognition of professional achievement and service to society and the university, which has thus brought honor and distinction to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Induction into the USAO Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the USAO Alumni Association. This award is extended to alumni and friends in recognition of their professional achievement and service to society, the university and, who have thus brought honor and distinction to the college.
